PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Pirulo

Featured in the Raumdeuter Online Magazine – Edition #7

Pirulo, real name Jose Antonio Ruiz Lopez, is a Spanish winger playing for Polish top flight side LKS Lodz.

The 27-year-old spent much of his early career in the lower levels of Spanish football, representing a host of clubs including Sabadell and L’Hospitalet, as well as the B teams of Malaga and Espanyol – the club through whose youth setup he was a part of.

Pirulo also spent time as a youngster at Cadiz, before his move to the Catalan side, but his professional career had never reached beyond the Spanish third tier.

In July 2016, he moved to pastures new away from Spain, signing for Slovakian top division side Senica. Making 17 league appearances and scoring four goals, he then moved on to Cherno More in Bulgaria.

After a brief stint back in the Spanish lower leagues, he joined current club Lodz.
