PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Xavier Amaechi

Featured in the Raumdeuter Online Magazine – Edition #5

Xavier Amaechi is an exciting English winger and one of the latest wave of young English stars to have moved overseas – largely to Germany – in the hope of furthering their development in a different, potentially more accessible environment.

An England youth international, Amaechi was part of the team of the tournament when he played for England’s under17s national team in the 2018 UEFA European Under-17 Championship, scoring in the quarter final against Norway.

The 18-year-old winger spent his youth career at Arsenal, but moved across to Hamburg to play for HSV in July 2019.

Amaechi made his debut on 11 August 2019 in the first round of the German Cup, DFB Pokal, against Chemnitzer FC – coming on as an extra time substitute for David Kinsombi.

Despite having not played again for HSV yet, but Amaechi is still early in his career.
