PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Mirahmetjan Muzepper

Mirahmetjan Muzepper might not initially strike many as a player of much real significance, but his very existence as a Chinese international is a monumental occasion.

As his name might have hinted towards, the Xinjiang-born is of Uyghur ethnicity and in 2018 became the first Uyghur player to represent China internationally.

A momentous occasion and sign of integration for a people China has repeatedly been embroiled in controversy surrounding their actions towards, Muzepper is a regular in the Chinese domestic league with Tianjian TEDA too.

Since joining the side in 2017 from Henan Jianye, the versatile midfielder has made over 50 league appearances for the club.

Muzepper might not be the best player in the Chinese Super League, but his presence is a significant one.
