Eight games were played in League One on Saturday, with Bristol Rovers’ win at Northampton the biggest win.

Doncaster 4-1 Southend

Anthony Wordsworth opened the scoring for Southend on 38 minutes, though it wasn’t to be the visitors’ day at the Keepmoat Stadium.

John Marquis equalised for Doncaster just before the interval on 45+1 minutes.

After the break, a ten minute hat trick from Ben Whiteman finished off the opposition.

Whiteman scored his first goal on 47 minutes, before adding a second after 50 minutes. He completed the treble with a penalty on 57 minutes.

MK Dons 1-4 Bradford City

Romain Vincelot netted the first goal of the game for Bradford on 11 minutes, before Charlie Wyke added a second on 18 minutes.

Paul Taylor rounded off the scoring for Bradford on 82 minutes.

Northampton 0-6 Bristol Rovers

It was a day to forget for Northampton, who shipped six at home against Bristol Rovers.

The first came after 37 minutes from Billy Bodin.

One goal down at halftime, Northampton fans likely weren’t too worried, but the second half quickly fell away from them.

Ellis Harrison scored twice in quick succession, first on 56 minutes and then again on 61 minutes.

Rory Gaffney made it four on 72 minutes, before Liam Sercombe netted four minutes later on 76 minutes.

Plymouth 1-2 Fleetwood

Jordy Hiwula broke the deadlock for Fleetwood on 64 minutes.

In a fairly uneventful game at Home Park, it wasn’t until second half injury time that the game exploded into life.

Amari’i Bell scored Fleetwood’s second of the game on 90+3 minutes, looking to have sealed the points for the visitors, but a goal by Plymouth’s Alex Fletcher on 90+4 minutes made for a frantic final few seconds.

Rochdale 0-1 Rotherham

Richard Wood scored the only goal of the game at the Crown Oil Arena on 57 minutes in a game that saw Rotherham have a number of attempts on target.

Scunthorpe 1-2 Wigan

Two early goals led to Walsall and Shrewsbury leaving the Banks’s Stadium splitting the points.

Dan Agyei put the home side ahead on 13 minutes, but Stefan Payne drew the visitors level when he converted a penalty on 20 minutes.
